Creator intelligence term

Audience location

Audience location, sometimes described as audience geography, is an estimate or report showing where a creator's viewers, followers or engaged audience are located. The population, time window and platform source must be named because those groups are not interchangeable.

Direct answer

The estimated geographic distribution of the people who view or follow a creator.

Context 01

Name the audience population first

A percentage for India, the United States or any other market is incomplete unless the denominator is clear. It may describe followers, recent viewers, engaged users or another sampled population.

Platform reports use their own eligibility rules, windows and privacy thresholds. A cross-platform comparison should preserve those definitions instead of treating every percentage as identical.

Context 02

Use geography as evidence, not certainty

Audience location helps teams decide whether a creator can plausibly reach the intended market. It is stronger when the source and observation date are recent and when supporting content, language and performance signals point in the same direction.

The result should be presented as an estimate or platform-reported distribution when appropriate. It should not be used to infer individual audience members or sensitive traits.

Limits to keep visible.

  • 01Audience reports can use sampled or estimated data.
  • 02Follower geography and viewer geography can differ materially.
  • 03Small audiences, privacy thresholds and stale windows may reduce availability or precision.
