Direct answer
The process of finding and evaluating creators against a defined campaign brief.
Context 01
Discovery begins with the campaign question
A useful search starts with the audience, market, platform, creator role, content context and exclusions that would change the decision. Entering a broad category without those constraints may produce names, but it does not produce a defensible shortlist.
Filters should express the brief, not replace it. Strong discovery systems let teams combine creator attributes, audience evidence, recent content and performance context while keeping each signal inspectable.
Context 02
Discovery and vetting are different stages
Discovery reduces a large search space to plausible candidates. Vetting tests those candidates against identity, audience fit, commercial history, brand suitability and material unknowns.
A creator appearing in a result set is not an endorsement. Approval requires a second, campaign-specific review with a named owner.
Do not overread this signal
Limits to keep visible.
- 01No single filter proves creator fit.
- 02A database result can be stale, incomplete or based on a platform profile rather than a resolved person.
- 03Discovery should not collapse all platform-native measures into one universal score.
