Influencer engagement rate calculator.

Calculate influencer engagement rate by followers or average views for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Add likes, comments, saves, shares and sample size.

Calculator inputs

Choose the context and denominator.

Keep Reels, carousels and static posts in comparable samples. Leave any interaction field blank when it is unavailable across the sample.

Enter totals across the sample. If you already have per-post averages, leave Posts in sample at 1.

How to use it

How to calculate influencer engagement rate correctly.

01

Choose the formula

Use followers or average views as the denominator. Do not compare results produced by different formulas as if they were identical.

02

Define the sample

Enter interaction totals across a consistent set of posts. Keep platform, format and observation window comparable.

03

Read the distribution

Use the rate beside typical views, content relevance and post-level consistency. One average can hide outliers.

Formula and sample

How to calculate influencer engagement rate.

By followers: average interactions per post ÷ follower count × 100.

By views: average interactions per post ÷ average views × 100.

01 · By followers

Instagram engagement rate

(6,900 interactions ÷ 8 posts) ÷ 75,000 followers × 100

Include only interaction types available across the full post sample.

1.15%

02 · By average views

YouTube engagement rate

(1,200 interactions ÷ 4 videos) ÷ 40,000 average views × 100

Keep Shorts and long-form videos separate when their viewing patterns differ.

0.75%

03 · By average views

TikTok engagement rate

(21,450 interactions ÷ 10 posts) ÷ 200,000 average views × 100

A viral outlier can distort both averages, so inspect the post-level distribution.

Do not use one universal benchmark across platforms, formats, audience sizes or samples. Compare rates only when the interaction fields, denominator and observation window are materially consistent.
